Free range lockdown.
On recent travels my accommodation came with glorious produce and added chicken duties. I say duties but actually I now view those chickens as my newest BFFs…Best Feathered Friends. In the morning I would open up the coop and count the birds out, putting down the food and letting them into the orchard. Of course they weren’t really aware of the current pandemic so distancing was not a high priority…or the rule of six. They were definitely eating out to help out though… Then in the evening, I’d do the daily egg hunt and get them back into the coop in time for dusk curfew and lockdown. All in all, it was possibly the most sociable experience I’ve enjoyed in the last six months or so. Thanks to Forge Farm for your hospitality – hope you like the pictures!
