The stroboscopic project – happy accidents.
Regular readers will be aware that, in partnership with drummer Rich Westley, I’ve been developing a project around stroboscopic imagery. The main body of work emerging from the project is turning into something really substantial. But I also wanted to share some of the imagery that you might call accidental – those pictures that you didn’t plan for; a bi-product of all the testing and experimentation. Whilst they might not be the end goal they are often just as visually interesting. And if you’d tried to shoot them in the first place you would probably never have got there! As more musicians join us to engage with the project, we’re hoping to take things to another level, so watch this space for more on that. In the meantime, here are some of the ‘happy accidents’ from my shoot with Rich. I’m now getting requests to recreate some of the effects with other musicians.. good job I made some notes!
