20th Anniversary Download – 2023
Last weekend I was back at my favourite festival for the 20th anniversary of Download at Donnington. It seemed a lot busier than I’ve ever seen it with over a 100,000 fans in attendance at it’s fastest ever selling Downlaod. The atmosphere was electric and the weather stayed great except for a short sharp blip on the Sunday!
Here are some of my favourite shots from the weekend…
Love this image looking down on the main stage which reminds me a bit of a Martin Parr style shot.
Evanescence headline at the second stage.
Metallica – super hard work this time to get pit access as they were allowing members of the audience into the pit. I ended up closer to the sound desk to get this shot.
Alter Bridge on the main stage.
Halestorm looking feisty!
Jinjer from Ukraine.
Bring Me The Horizon – The Sheffield lads brought some serious pyrotechnics!
Bring Me The Horizon – Oli Sykes soaks in the atmosphere.
Bring Me The Horizon with their gothic backdrop.
Radio 1 Favourite, Crawlers.
Crawlers’ Holly Minto giving it everything!
It was great to see so many more women on the main stages than ever before.
Hot Milk from Manchester.
Rock duo – Nova Twins.
Australian electronic rock band – Pendulum.
Stand Atlantic.
Static Dress.
American rock band – Fever 333.
Municipal Waste – Thrash band from Virginia.
Ice Nine Kill brought some serious, albeit rather brutal, stage performance to their set!
Ice Nine Kill
Gwar – with guest appearances from King Charles and Putin!! The crowd got rather blood splattered at this one!
Placebo still sounding great – Shot this image for BBC Radio 1.
