Happy to be back at Download, 2022.
So great to be back at Download this year. Big thanks to LD Communications for sorting my pass.
As you know, this is one of my standouts in the festival season. Perfect start on the Friday too as my mates, Cellar Door Moon Crew, were up on the Dogtooth stage. Fab to see them and we caught up in the press room following their set. I’ve known these guys for about 15 years; many different bands, different music but always the same big smiles when they see you.
Cassytte was new to me and brilliant. Possibly the happiest girl I’ve seen up there on stage in years.
Here are some of my other highlights. Black Label Society were amazing – always great to shoot. Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes entertaining as ever. He was into the crowd in no time. And of course, Biffy Clyro and the Darkness winding things up on the main stage, were completely awesome.
As ever, the atmosphere was all about community and celebration. Another Download regular, Graham, introduced me to Ellie, who had come along on her own. Needless to say, we all made friends with her. That’s the kind of festival it is. A place where you can find your people.
