Music House wrap.
Yorkshire College of Music and Drama has just been relaunched as Music House. The aim is to develop a unique space offering equal opportunities and access to music. I was there to capture the grand unveiling on camera. And for once it really was an unveiling…of the building as well as the brand. Along with the ceremonial ribbon cutting and a rather lovely piano recital, a large scale building wrap gave the event some brilliantly visual impact.
Whilst the new identity was kept ‘under wraps’, local students and arts projects were invited to add artwork to the building’s temporary covers. And on the day, graffiti artist Philip, aka @crie_one was there to add a final, colourful flourish. It was great to be there at the start of what will hopefully be a really inclusive enterprise. I think the wrapper really set the tone for that ambition of breaking down barriers. Good to know it will now be preserved inside the building.
